This ‘Not for Profit’ Organisation was founded by Dr. King Gan, a retired General Practitioner from Melbourne Australia, who spent six months in Cambodia as a volunteer in 2008. He was so moved by the plight of the Cambodian children and their families that on his return to Australia he decided to do something about the situation. He retired from medical practice and devoted all his energy into starting the MAKE EVERY CHILD COUNT Foundation. Its first project is to develop the village of Cham Resh into a self-sustaining, thriving, healthy village and a model for the development of other villages in the area.
“After my first visit I was very moved by the plight of the villagers and decided to start a project that encompassed basic health needs: water and sanitation, education and poverty reduction. I felt that the only way to improve the villagers’ lives and enable them to achieve self-sufficiency was this integrated approach.” Dr King Gan, 2009
